Not Quite Done...

Not quite done yet. I machine quilted in the ditch on the sashing to keep the panels squared. I outline quilted the appliquéd pieces with thicker thread using YLI Jeans Stitch variegated thread that I have on hand. Binding is done. Still trying to decide how to quilt the rest of the open space.

Roseville Fruit Bowl

Finally finished something--whoo hoo!

Somehow the block seems a bit  busy to me--perhaps the apple or the pineapple should have been plainer with the bowl print.  But I'm leaving it as is, following the principle that it's better to finish than to be totally happy, and knowing I can swap things later.  (Of course, I also know that change is a slippery slope--as soon as you change one fabric, the others will start to need adjusting, so I'm not going there.)  Hopefully as I finish more blocks they'll all blend together.  Now on to the next one....

The Garden

This is the quilt I'll be doing in the workshops when Kaffe & Brandon arrive in Australia next February. I'm sooo looking forward to meeting everyone, it will be a great couple of days. The photos of this quilt was blogged by Kathy from Material Obsession yesterday I think, she has done a better job in posting the pics. And I still don't know how to do the link to other websites, not very good with this internet thing!

Liza will soon be making the pattern available from her GloriousColor website and also the fabric packs I think. This is a really fun quilt to do, the background is " Clover" in grey and you can use all Kaffe's big print. Big applique pieces = quickly done.

I haven't started a new project yet, I need to have a break from the applique or the quilts are going to start looking the same! I'll be starting the new quilt in the beginning of the year, I'll get to use the new fabrics then. Actually I'm having a rather fun time playing with the sewing machine. Liza told me to get the Bernina 1/4" foot with the guide on it. The seams are actually matching at last, have done 7 of the simple machine pieced quilts.

You are all doing such fantastic jobs with your chosen quilts, I've had the most fun watching the quilts grow in the last few months and not to mention all the fantastic tips everyone is coming up with. Keep it up everyone, I just love reading this blog! Cheers, Kim McL

Roseville bottom panel

I've gotten the bottom panel finished. Those trees were real fun to do!

I had a couple of requests to see my top panel along with the center blocks. Once they were sewn together they didn't fit on my design wall good enough to get everything in the pic, so I took the quilt top outside. Unfortunately, the lighting makes the colors of the quilt look a little washed out?
I didn't want to use up extra pic space on this blog, so if you want to see more you can visit my blog .
I've decided to do the left side panel next. It looks fun! :)

Lollipop block number four

I cannot believe how much fun I am having with every block, it is like every block is a different adventure. The colors of the fabric just sing to me, every time I pick up a piece of Kaffe fabric, it just makes me feel happy.

When I went to clip the threads on this block, I accidentally cut a slit in the fabric, it was right under the flowers. At first I kind of panicked but then I thought, no problem just add a couple more lollypop circles.

I love checking the blog everyday, it is so much fun to see everyone's work. You all definitely inspire me. Thank you so much for sharing.
